Welcome to my world...

I believe laughter is an important part of life.
I love to laugh.

One person’s “junk” is another’s treasure.
I love to find stuff.

My art comes out of those loves. When I cruise antique stores, garage sales and other random places for stuff - ideas start happening – sometimes the 'stuff' can be a simple conversation.
Those items or conversations pop images into my head - and those image pops are what come out in my art.

I live my art life by  ‘What if…’
“What if I cut that car door apart and…., What if that bowl became a boat …, What if I wrapped clay around that and…”  Once I find that inspiration, the process of creation takes on a life of its own. I don’t try to force a sculpture into being – I let it become.

My art has to be a reflection of me who I am. People describe me as silly, whimsical and slightly off the wall. Perfect!  In my world, expressions are everything.  A facial expression or body language can change the meaning of anything that just came out of their mouth.  Capturing that one expression that says it all is what I strive for.

My studio is simple – a table, the clay, a bunch of crazy found objects and a mirror to make faces in.  Clay is a medium that is malleable enough to create the expressions that make me crack myself up.

I enjoy talking to everyone and laughter is a universal language.

In those momenwhen I am on the outside, and get to watch people approach my work for the first time and  I see a big smile spread across their face, I know I have succeeded in my mission – life is too short to be serious.
